Still trying to get my RC 71 to control my Vizio S4251W-B4. Have lot of codes to try but do not want to waste my time if it is not possible. I do not want use my Vizio Remote Control if at all possible. Someone has written that it is not possible. Does anyone disagree and had success in doing so. The codes suggested are the following:

My mom purchased an RC66 replacement remote, and we cannot get it to program with the TV. It works for the receiver functions (changing channels, getting into the guide, etc.). However, we can't get it set up for her TV. We go through all of the appropriate steps to get to the code entry screen for her TV model (JVC). However, as soon as she tries to press and hold the mute + select buttons (while on the TV slider), a warning message pops up stating that the "Current mode isn't programmed. You've moved a switch on the remote control to a mode that isn't programmed. To program this mode for other equipment, move the switch to DirecTV and press select on program remote." The problem is that this comes up and then she can't type in any of the codes. She moves the slider back to DirecTV, clicks program remote, and it goes back to the beginning. If she clicks don't program remote, the same exact message comes up when she tries again. The same thing happens if she presses & holds the mute + select buttons while watching TV, while it the slider is on the TV setting (e.g. if we try to reset or enter any of the codes for troubleshooting that I have found online). It never lets her actually enter the code, or if she tries while the message is up on the screen, it doesn't work. We are getting to the end of our rope on this, because we know the TV isn't programmed yet-that is what we are trying to do, but it won't let us. She has a R15-500 standard receiver, if that helps. I am getting my XBox One this week, and I have some general questions about set up using the OneGuide with DirecTV.
1. Does the DirecTV Genie HR34 work well with the OneGuide?
2. Is there any picture degradation at all? I've read a lot of posts from 4-5 months ago referencing some video degradation when running the DirecTV through the XBox, but haven't seen anything posted recently. Was this a widespread issue? Was it fixed?
3. Does anyone use a Harmony Remote with their XBox One/Genie? Thoughts?
4. Is there anything that is limited when running DirecTV through the Genie? For example, I know there were some early issues with accessing and controlling the DVR? Were those issues fixed? Are there any other issues that still exist?
Thanks for any and all assistance you can provide. I just want to have everything in mind already when setting this up, and also be as simple as possible for the Mrs. I tried to look up a lot of this stuff, but it seems most everything people post about these topics is negative, and they are also pretty dated.

I'm having a hard time getting my remote back into RF mode. I have my box set up away from my projection screen so this has been an issue. It would work in RF mode before but stopped working recently. I have the HR44-200 receiver and the RC73 remote. I have tried setting it up in the settings using mute+select --> 961 --> ch up as well as resetting both the remote and receiver. Any help? Thanks guys
i bought a samsung un48j5000afxza tv yesterday from walmart, new in the box. (No demo)!! I can not program the RC65 remote. the code for the remote is 10812 and several others will work (But) !!! not all of the functions work. the vol, mute and the (Directv on&off) buttons are all i need. when i program the remote. vol & mute works BUT No On and Off!!! directv Chat says it's the tv and Samsung's chat line says it's the remote. ((The remote works fine on my rca, sony and toshiba tv's.. please advise because i like the tv and want to keep it but i will take it back and get something else that will work with my remote.
I have 3 receivers on my home network with my Genie. Each has a vizio tv. I keep a RC66x and an older RC65x at each tv. A while back, all three RC66x remotes stopped controlling the vizio tvs volume and on and off. They worked the first year.. but recently started this.
I have reset and reentered the codes in the rc66x remotes.. but nothing seems to work.
in the main tv we also had the denon home theater programmed in and it no longer controls the volume on it... and I have reset and reentered all codes.
I searched for hours on how to correctly program this remote to work with my TV and after messing around with it in frustration I found the correct way to program it to your TV. First, have your Genie Mini receiver connected and powered on. Next, grab your RC71 remote and simultaneously hold the "MUTE" + "ENTER" buttons until you see a box appear on your TV screen that says "Applying IR/RF Setup. Please Wait" (this appears after about 5 seconds of holding those buttons). Once complete another dialog box will appear and read, "Your remote is now setup for RF." Click "SELECT" to exit that screen. Next, click the "MENU" button, scroll down to "Settings & Help", then click on "Settings", scroll down to and click on "Remote Control", then click "Program Remote". Next you will have two options, either "Program TV" or "Program Audio Device". Click "Program TV", this takes you to a screen where you need to select what BRAND your TV is. After you have selected your TV brand you will have to select the TV Model ( I recommend looking at the sticker on the back of your TV for the accurate Model number or using your current TV remote to find the model number from the menu screen on your TV for fastest and best results). Once the correct model number is selected, AIM your RC71 remote at the TV and it will AUTOMATICALLY program!
This is the easiest, fastest and only correct way I have seen throughout the internet and support forums!

I have a clinic with 20 d12 receiver. They are on TV sets and they are close to each other. I need to code every other remote dif so that one patient doesnt change the ch on the next patients receiver. How can that be done? Are there multiple codes for a d12-receiver and how do I code the receiver?
I have a TCL TV and have searched the forum for TV codes that will allow me to use the DTV RC71 remote with it.
I've read the thread about another TCL model that worked with Visio codes. It suggested that you used the fifth code down on the Visio list.
But, when I search for codes on the DTV Web site it only list three codes 11758, 12757 and 10885. none of these work with my TCL 40FS3750.
Can someone tell me the code that worked with a TCL TV?
I spent hours on the phone with DTV and researching this to no avail.

I have the rc72 remote. directions always say "press power button to test". The rc72 doesn't have a power button. Yes, I've tested the volume. It actually doesn't work the volume unless I press, "yes, it worked". It kinda works. It controls the volume, but not the on/off.
Trying to avoid the multiple remote situation as my kids are only 6 & 8.

I just bought a Hisense 55H7B 4k tv and there are no codes that I could find to program my RC71 remote to control tv. The auto find function did not work, my tv isn't listed. Anybody know if there are any work arounds to make it work?
I've got an older TV in the bedroom, and we use the DirecTV remote to control it and the mini Genie. My problem is, I'd like to set up a Fire TV Stick also, so I need something to switch the HDMI signal to the TV. I was wondering if anyone knew of a relatively cheap HDMI switch that can be controlled with the DirecTV remote? I could get one that has its own remote, but it would QUICKLY get lost under the bed or in a sock drawer somewhere.
I have used the on screen directions for the remote, the Vizio site and in here for help with the codes. I have also tried the instructions for "Learning" the signal for the sound bar. The best I can get it turning the bar on/off. I am beginning to think the two are not compatible. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I have a genie remote, and a Sony soundbar RM-ANP084. I was able to program the remote so that it controls the volume, but I would like the remote to turn the soundbar on and off when I turn the receiver/tv on and off.

I've programmed the RC71 to control Samsung TV and have purchased a new Samsung SB after a Vizio one could not be programed correctly by the RC71.
The DTV/ RC71 does not list the exact code for HW-J450 but it lists all the older modes, HW-H450, HW-E450... etc
The remote codes will control the volume but not its power. I have to power on the SB from its remote ever time the SB sits longer than 25 min between use (its default auto turn off time).
I really don't want to send back another SB because this can't be programed DTV codes?

How can I get Directv RC65RX remote to control TCL Roku TV model 40FS3750? Cannot find code by searching through settings menu. Found info at Roku site to use code 11756 but cannot find anywhere that I can directly enter a code in the remote setup. Help appreciated!
I should note I read the forums and tried other things, such as working through the Vizio 'I do not know my model' codes, but that did not work.
Need the code for my new RC73 genie remote, to control my Samsung LN46B550 TV. Tried a few but nothing worked.
